March 2009 Update:
Nearly 900 Scouts and Leaders have already RSVP'd for the October 2-4 event at Fort
Gordon, including quite a few Out-of-Council units. This is an incredible show of
support for participation considering we are still 8 months away! We hope you and
your Scouts (Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts, and Venturers) will also be able to
join us. In

, please remember there will be no Fall district
camporees this year.
While the actual registration deadline will be later this Summer, we hope you'll
send us your RSVP so that we can make sure the various Military, Scouting, and Civilian
resources can begin to plan accordingly. (The unit commitment form was e-mailed
in early January but if you need it again, please e-mail me directly). As an extra
incentive, all Unit Leaders (Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, and Crew Advisor) who return
the unit commitment form by March 31 will receive 1 free Jimmie Dyess Days 2009
patch. The high-definition 'photo over embroidery' patches will be ready for distribution
by the end of February, so don't miss this opportunity to be among the first to
receive and display this unique patch. If you've already completed the commitment
form at University of Scouting or faxed to the council office, we will distribute
those patches at the March roundtables in the
Georgia-Carolina
Council
. Out of concil
units will receive their RSVP patch by mail.
